Braj Bhasha is one of the sweetest and most graceful dialects of North India. The people of this region are known for their warmth, harmony, and willingness to help one another.

Braj has given birth to many celebrated poets whose writings have become treasures of Indian literature—Surdas, Raskhan, Mirabai, Kabir, and many other saints and poets composed their divine verses in Braj.

Where Braj Bhasha is Spoken

Braj Bhasha is primarily spoken in the following areas:

  • Uttar Pradesh: Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, Govardhan, Agra, Aligarh, Etah, Hathras
  • Rajasthan: Bharatpur, Dholpur, Deeg, Kama
  • Haryana: Faridabad, Palwal
  • Madhya Pradesh: Morena

These regions together form the cultural heartland of Braj, deeply influenced by its traditions, language, and heritage.

The estimated population of the broader Braj region is around 35–40 million, based on the 2011 Census and current projections.
